The Firestorm Get A Huge Win Against Loyola Marymount

Glendale, AZ.–   ACU delivered a commanding performance on their home turf, rolling past Loyola Marymount University with a decisive 19-7 victory. The Firestorm set the tone early, outscoring the Lions 9-1 in the opening quarter and never looking back. Gavin Waddell led the charge for Arizona Christian, netting four goals while also contributing four assists and three ground balls. Carson Brown and Caleb Schaapveld each recorded hat tricks, further solidifying ACU's offensive dominance. The Firestorm's midfield and attack players dominated the ground ball battle, securing 49 to LMU's 33. ACU's defense was equally impressive, limiting Loyola Marymount's offensive chances and keeping the pressure on throughout the game.

  • In the first quarter, the Firestorm scored nine goals right fairly quickly, and Waddell scored three of them. ACU led 9-1 at the end of the first. 
  • The Firestorm carried their momentum into the second quarter as they added another five goals, while Loyola Marymount scored two of their own. ACU extended their lead 14-3 going into the half. 
  • In the third quarter, their momentum slowed as they only scored three more goals. 
  • The Firestorm's defense was also incredible, only allowing one goal. ACU extended their lead 17-4 at the end of the third quarter. 
  • In the fourth quarter, the Firestorm solidified their win as they scored two more goals. 
  • ACU won the game, 19-7.
