ACU Closes Out Road Trip With Loss To #5 NNU

Nampa, Idaho–  Northern Nazarene delivered a commanding performance on Tuesday night, cruising to a 20-4 victory over the Firestorm.  ACU's efforts were highlighted by attacker Gavin Waddell, who contributed a goal and two assists, and long-stick midfielder Ryan Leonard, for holding NNU's first-team All-American midfielder to zero goals in the game.

Inside The Game
  • In the first quarter, the Firestorm were on the board first when Carson Brown scored a goal off of a pass from Gavin Waddell. ACU led 1-0. 
  • The Nighthawks were on a roll and scored four straight goals. NNU led 4-1. 
  • Later in the first, Waddell passed it to Black Smith and he scored another goal. The Nighthawks still led, 4-2. 
  • In the second quarter, the Firestorm struggled to find the net. 
  • Meanwhile, the Nighthawks found their momentum, scoring six goals in the third quarter. NNU led the Firestorm, 10-2 at halftime. 
  • ACU continued to struggle in the third quarter, going scoreless. 
  • NNU scored another five goals on the Firestorm. NNU extended their lead, 15-2 at the end of the third quarter. 
  • In the fourth quarter, the Firestorm finally got some momentum after Kellen Haigh and Gavin Waddell scored a couple goals. 
  • NNU was also on a roll, scoring another five goals. The Nighthawks extended their lead, 20-4 at the end of the fourth quarter. 
  • ACU lost the game, 20-4.
