The Firestorm’s Bats Get Hot Against Bethesda on Senior Night

Glendale, Ariz.- ACU put on an offensive showcase Wednesday night, securing a dominant 15-4 win over Bethesda on Senior Night. A program record of 25 seniors were celebrated before the game, and the Firestorm delivered a great game. ACU erupted for 16 hits, capitalizing on early scoring opportunities to put the game out of reach. Frank Wierman earned the win, and the bullpen combined for 15 strikeouts on the night.

  • In the bottom of the first inning, The Firestorm were on the board first after they scored 5 unanswered runs. ACU led 5-0.

  • In the seventh inning, Petrus hit a solo home run to right field. ACU led 12-4. 
  • In the bottom of the eighth inning, Killinger hit a 3-run home run to center field. 
  • ACU won the game, 15-4.
