Box Score SANTA CLARITA, CA – The Master's College Mustangs shutout the Arizona Christian Firestorm on Saturday afternoon by a final of 2-0 in Santa Clarita, California.
With the loss, the Firestorm fall to 3-11 overall and remain winless in GSAC play at 0-7. With the win, The Masters College improves to 8-6-1 overall and 5-2-1 in GSAC play this season.
After playing a tough scoreless first half, the Mustangs came out and proved to be too much for the Firestorm with a two goal effort in the second half.
The Master's College got on the board first just a minute and a half into the second half, when Humphrey Mahowa found Vini Barauna for the first goal of the match in the 46th minute.
TMC added another goal in the 86th minute for insurance, when Brett Croft found Lloyd Virgill for the goal to make it 2-0 in favor of The Master's College.
TMC outshot ACU 14-3, with ten of those shots all coming in the second half.
Kyle Cunningham picked up the victory in net, making one save, while Jorge Arauz took the loss for the Firestorm. He played all 90 minutes and allowed both goals, while making 5 saves.
The Arizona Christian men's soccer team returns to action this Tuesday, when they host William Jessup University at 7pm at the Rose Mofford Sports Complex. The women will precede the ACU men at 4:30pm, also against William Jessup.
