Five Players Selected All-GSAC Honors

Glendale, Ariz.- On Wednesday, the Great Southwest Athletic Conference (GSAC) announced the 2025 Men's Soccer All-GSAC Team, presented by Under Armour. Five ACU players were selected, including junior Raul Aranda, junior Jose Garcia, senior Marcos Mora, senior Jake Underwood, and junior Emiliano Vega.

Garcia, from Victoria, Mexico, topped the Firestorm with ten goals and six assists. The midfielder finishes the regular season fourth in the GSAC in goals and tied for second in assists. Garcia currently sits at 15 goals and 12 assists in his career thus far, including four game-winning goals.

Aranda, from Aguacalientes, Mexico, was second on the Firestorm in goals (seven) and had two assists. The forward finishes the regular season with the tenth most points (15) in the conference. Aranda currently sits with seven goals with a shots on goal percentage of 68% in the 15 games he's played.

Mora, from Phoenix, AZ, was third on the Firestorm in goals (six) and assists (five) for the season. The midfielder completes the regular season with five goals and four assists against GSAC foes. Mora has the ninth most assists in the conference, sitting at four assists.

Underwood, from Phoenix, AZ, topped the Firestorm in minutes played with 1,593 minutes played, averaging about 88.5 minutes played each game. The defender helped ACU only allow 17 goals in the conference.

Vega, from Mexicali, Mexico, was first in the GSAC for saves (74) and had the highest save percentage (.831). The goalkeeper also had the six-most saves per game with an average of 5.29 saves per game. Vega currently has the fourth-most saves in ACU history, sitting at 142 saves and counting.

Head Coach Ted Krzywiecki stated, "Jose, Marcos, and Raul have found the back of the net in key moments throughout our conference schedule. Jake has helped to anchor an incredibly solid back line that has had the lowest goals against in the conference. Emi has helped save games for us with some massive saves throughout the season. Our team has worked hard this year so it is cool to see them earn a bit of recognition. We have had some special play from these five guys in addition to a number of other guys who could have also been recognized. This is the most GSAC All-Conference performers we have had."

The Firestorm quintet will lead the ACU men into the semifinals of the GSAC tournament and hopefully beyond. Arizona Christian will host the third seeded Benedictine Mesa on Friday at 12:30pm on the ACU Soccer Field.
