Box Score FULLERTON, CA – The Arizona Christian Firestorm volleyball team swept the Hope International Royals on Saturday evening by a final of 3-0. Finals were 25-23, 27-25, and 25-20.
With the victory, the Firestorm improve to 10-12 overall and 4-9 in GSAC play. With the loss, Hope International falls to 7-17 overall and 2-11 in GSAC play.
It was a battle all night between the Arizona Christian Firestorm and the Hope International Royals on Saturday night. In the first set, ACU was able to hang on for a close 25-23 win.
The second set was even tougher, as the Royals forced extra play; before the Firestorm claimed a 27-25 victory.
In the third set, the Firestorm finished off the clean sweep of the Royals with a 25-20 victory; handing HIU their 17th loss in conference play.
The Firestorm were led by Mackenzie Worden with 36 total attacks and Jenny Thompson, who had 28 total attacks. Hailey Worden led the team with 16 digs, and Jenny Thompson had 11. Hailey Settle led the Firestorm with 22 digs and Kailaa Heaney chipped in with 14 digs as well.
The Firestorm will now return home to Phoenix, to close out the regular season with three straight home matches; starting Tuesday against Vanguard University at 7pm inside of the Fultz Memorial Gymnasium.
