Men's soccer battles in the heat, but plays to a 0-0 draw.

The men's game was a defensive battle right from the start. Both teams had multiple opportunities to score. ACU had 9 shots on goal and goalkeeper Jesus Rosas saved them all. Bethesda had 5 shots on goal, and keeper Drew Cline also came up with the shutout. After 90 minutes of play both teams were scoreless. In both overtimes nothing changed, both teams had opportunities, but no goals were scored. In the first official game of the season the Firestorm would have to settle for a tie. It was a tough day for both teams playing in the heat of the day, Coach Berrios talked it about it after the game. "We came out with the right mindset and focused on our game plan. We created multiple opportunities to score but could not convert. Although our men kept plugging away and working hard the final result was 0-0 after double overtime. I have to say I was impressed with the effort of both teams in such extreme Arizona heat."
