Firestorm In Giving Mood Against Centurions

Phoenix, AZ- In a 92-55 win over Yellowstone Christian, Arizona Christian was in a giving mood as they recorded assists on 28 of their 38 made baskets.  Junior Courtney Christmas produced 24 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals, 5 assists, and 1 block.  Junior Makayla Enders went for 14 points and seven assists.

The Firestorm (7-1) lead wire-to-wire started by a three pointer from Christmas.  Junior Jada Willingham knocked down a three followed by a steal and fast break layup by Sophomore Toni Davis and a jumper from Christmas to give ACU a 10-0 cushion.

The Centurions (2-3) scored the next five points to creep within five.  But Arizona Christian answered with a 12-2 run to push their lead into double digits and did not look back.

At the break, ACU held a 41-23 edge.  Christmas was already up to 14 points on 6 of 9 shooting.  Willingham dialed in three 3 pointers on her way to ten first half points.

By game's end, the Firestorm used their defense to force 33 turnovers on 21 steals as they cashed in 49 points off turnovers.

Joining Christmas, Enders, and Willingham (13 points) in double digit points was Davis with 12 points and Freshman Sierra Stephan with 10 points.  Willingham and Davis recorded six and five assists respectively on the evening.

Davis had five steals of her own.

On Monday, the Firestorm will turn right around and play Ottawa (AZ).  Tip-off is set for 7:00 pm in Fultz Memorial Gym.
