Shooting Off In Road Exhibition

Phoenix, AZ- Playing on the road for the first time this season, Arizona Christian fell 75-51 in an exhibition at Grand Canyon on Tuesday evening.  The Firestorm could not find their shooting touch away from Fultz Memorial Gym.  Juniors Courtney Christmas and Makayla Enders accounted for 33 of the ACU points.

Enders converted the first shot of the game and the Firestorm were quickly ahead 2-0.

But the Lopes scored the next seven points to move in front for good.

ACU shot under 20% for most of the first quarter and found themselves down ten after 10 minutes.

Halftime saw Arizona Christian behind 37-23 as they ended up at 27.6% shooting.  Christmas was at eight points while Enders was at seven.

The Firestorm came out and scored the first six points of the second half with Sophomore Toni Davis making four of them to bring ACU within eight points.  However, the Lopes countered with a 10-0 run that turned the tide in their favor.

Christmas rounded out her evening with 18 points.  Enders added 15 points.

With their non-conference schedule behind them, Arizona Christian will now challenge the Golden State Athletic Conference part of their schedule.  On Saturday, the Firestorm will host top ranked Vanguard at 2:00 pm.
