Box Score 2 Riverside, CA – Men's soccer notched their first win of the season in a four-goal outburst Monday night at La Sierra University.
Senior Carlos Morales got the Firestorm (1-0-1) on the board first when he knocked in the assist from Sophomore Lukas Macho at the 13:46 mark. Arizona Christian held on to the 1-0 lead over the Golden Eagles (0-1) into the half.
Freshman German Lopez scored his first collegiate goal nine minutes into the second half to build the Firestorm lead to 2-0.
Just over ten minutes later, Junior Alex Segura put the match out of reach with two goals in a three-minute span.
Sophomore Luke Holt worked all 90 minutes in goal for the Firestorm and nearly missed his first shutout of the season, as the Golden Eagles snuck in a late goal with two minutes remaining in the game.
Men's soccer returns to action this Thursday with their home opener against University of Antelope Valley. Opening kick is set for 8:00 pm from Rose Mofford Soccer Complex, immediately following the women's contest between the Firestorm and the Pioneers.
