Box Score GLENDALE, Ariz. - The Arizona Christian University men's soccer program (4-4-0; 2-1-0 GSAC) lost an overtime heartbreaker to OUAZ (5-1-0; 3-0-0 GSAC), 2-1 on Tuesday afternoon on the ACU Football Field.
Game Notes:
ACU moves to 1-3-1 with the loss and has now lost two-consecutive matches to the Spirit.
The Game:
The battle of the unbeatens started off strong in ACU's favor as the Firestorm got on the board early into the first half with a score off the right leg of current GSAC Player of the Week, German Lopez at 10:43.
The Firestorm would hang on to that 1-0 lead for much of the contest, but with just under five minutes left in the contest, OUAZ would even things up with its first goal, snapping a shutout streak of over three matches for ACU.
The score would remain tied at the end of regulation to force overtime. In the first overtime period, several Spirit attackers converged just in front of the ACU net, eventually controlling the ball and finding the back of the net for a walk-off golden goal to take home the win, 2-1.

Thoughts from Coach:
"The men fought hard and gave everything they had. Unfortunately we couldn't put the game to rest in the second half. Credit goes to Ottawa who were good on the day. Our focus now shifts to getting a proper recovery before traveling to Jessup. We will learn from our mistakes and look to build on the positives from today's match."
