The Royals came out of the gate playing hard and took an early lead just 24 minutes into play with a goal that came off of a free kick following a Firestorm foul.   After the opening goal, the Firestorm defense went into lockdown mode for the rest of the match, not allowing another shot on goal to close out the half.  In the second half, ACU was able to get a couple of looks at the goal, but it wasn't until 80:15 that Ballesteros was able to get the ball from Anderson after it was served in by Abbitt off the free kick and bycicle kick it backwards into the goal, tying the match at 1.  HIU would go on to outshoot ACU in this match 20-5 but squandered too many opportunities at the net.  That score would hold up and the Firestorm still remain unbeaten in GSAC play.  

Next Match:

Men's soccer comes home to play a two game set next weekend against Vanguard - who currently sits right behind ACU in the GSAC men's soccer standings - and San Diego Christian.  Both games will be played at ACU Football Field and on Saturday before the SDCC game, ACU will be celebrating Senior Day.
