Arizona Christian
The Firestorm followed up a hard-fought win over Embry-Riddle (AZ) with another over the vastly improved Park Gilbert Buccaneers. Three goals were scored by three different ACU players (Shiloh Perez, Cristhian Flores, and Marlon Arce) and fueled a 3-1 comeback victory after conceding the opening goal to Park Gilbert. ACU had 10 fewer fouls than Park Gilbert (18-8) and three yellow cards were awarded in a heated contest. With a win on Saturday, it would be the best start (3-0) in the Krzywiecki era.

ACU Key Players
Cristhian Flores - 1 goal, 4 shots
Aiden Abbitt - 1 assist, 10 shots
Tiago Soares - 1 assist, 5 shots
Jose Garcia - 1 assist, 2 shots
Marlon Arce - 1 goal, 1 shot
Carlos Gallardo - 4 saves

Series Notes
Saturday marks the first meeting between the Firestorm and Southern Oregon Raiders.

ACU has faced Eastern Oregon once in program history, when the Firestorm lost in a 3-1 contest. Their only meeting took place in 2018 at Rose Mofford Soccer Complex, the facility ACU utilized before ACU Football Field was built in 2020.

Like Southern Oregon, the Firestorm will match up with Oregon Tech for the first time in history.

Coach Krzywiecki's Thoughts
"We are preparing ourselves for a tough week of games by focusing on ourselves and what we can improve," Coach Krzywiecki said. "We have a lot of respect for the Cascade Conference and the coaching staffs and teams we are hosting. We know they will have their teams prepared and ready to go. It's an exciting opportunity to have some of the top teams in the west traveling into Glendale in the next few days. We are looking forward to the challenge."

Southern Oregon
The Southern Oregon Raiders enter with a 2-0 record. In step with the Firestorm, SOU matched up against Embry-Riddle (AZ), and defeated the Eagles 2-1 at a neutral site on August 26th. Their game against ACU marks the beginning of a five-game road trip, as they will take on GSAC teams OUAZ and Menlo in the two games following their visit to Glendale. SOU head coach Davie Carmichael has aspirations for more postseason success, as the Raiders made an appearance in the Cascade Conference Championships semifinals in 2022.

Eastern Oregon
The Eastern Oregon Mountaineers sit at a 0-0-1 record, with meetings at OUAZ and Embry-Riddle (AZ) prior to coming into Glendale to face the Firestorm. After two scrimmages, EOU played their first official game against Northwest Nazarene University, which ended in a 2-2 tie. The Mountaineers' three-game stand in Arizona will take place over five days before they head back home to scrimmage Blue Mountain Community College on September 9th. Jessy Watson progresses through his fourth season as head coach of EOU, on the heels of 2022 where his squad finished with a record of 9-8-2.

Oregon Tech
The Oregon Institute of Technology Owls currently possess a 0-0-1 record. OIT will act as hosts when they face Simpson University on September 1st prior to their upcoming date with ACU. Following two scrimmages, OIT battled Menlo University to a 0-0 tie, where the Owls' defense had to work hard in repelling 16 shots and five shots on goal. Sean McManamon is leading the Owls for a second year, seeking to complement a 2022 season where OIT went 13-3-4, made a conference finals appearance, and qualified for the first round of the NAIA National Championship.
