Janssen Leads Men’s Cross Country to 3rd Place Finish at GSAC Championships

Glendale, AZ- Senior Trevin Janssen saved his best GSAC performance for last and ran a lifetime best tof 26:17 to finish 16th overall in a field featuring the #1 and #7 ranked teams in the nation.  Janssen was followed closely behind by sophomore Peter Brown who finished 17th in a time of 26:24.

Finishing third on the team was freshman John-Gabriel Lofredo who completed his freshman campaign with a 28th place finish and a time of 27:48. On the other end of the spectrum was senior Michael Sexson running in his final
GSAC Championship race who fresh off singing the national anthem to open the meet had his highest team placing of his career being the teams #4 runner, and finishing 29th overall with a time of 27:56 which was his second straight sub-28:00 performance.  Rounding out the top five was sophomore Braxton Pingleton who finished 30th in a time of 27:57.

Thoughts from Coach Fahsholz
"I am really proud of the way our guys raced today, and how well they were able to finish this season.  We started the year with a lot of new faces who were new to the 8k race distance, and after a couple early stumbles they could have very easily checked out and looked to next year.  Instead, they just seemed to work harder and grow more positive – there reward was finishing the year with two high level performances and significant improvements to their race times.  Every team is trying to finish their season with their best performance – this group accomplished that."
