Box Score PHOENIX, AZ – The William Jessup Warriors women's soccer scored late in the second period and defeated the Arizona Christian Firestorm women's soccer team by a final of 1-0 on Tuesday afternoon at the Rose Mofford Sports Complex in Phoenix.
With the loss, the Firestorm fall to 2-13 overall and 0-8 in GSAC play, while William Jessup improves to 6-10 overall and 1-7 in GSAC play this season.
The lone goal from Tuesday's game came in the 62nd minute, when Lauren Young found Lauren Roseboro in front of the next to give William and Jessup the 1-0 advantage.
Warriors' goaltender Hayleigh Lamping earned a shutout, stopping all seven shots from the Firestorm.
On the other side, ACU goalie Alex Dugan allowed the one goal in 90 minutes of play and made eight saves.
Tuesday's game featured just six offside infractions, six combined corner kicks and 21 shots.
The Arizona Christian women's soccer team returns to action this Saturday, when they travel to Fullerton, California to face Hope International University at 12 noon. The men will follow the ACU women at 2:30pm at Hope International.
