Lady Firestorm Trio Grabs CSC Academic All-District Nod

Glendale, Ariz.- A couple weeks ago, the College Sport Communicators (CSC) Women's Soccer Academic All-District Teams were announced. Brenna Sonsini, Ella Barron, and Maya Cowan represented the Arizona Christian Women's Soccer Team on the NAIA All-District Team.

To be nominated by their College Sports Communicator, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically with a 3.50 cumulative GPA and compete in 90 percent or started 66 percent of their team's contests. A nomination by their CSC earns the student-athlete All-District honors. Select All-District finalists move up to the CSC Academic All-America ballot where a national committee determines the All-America Teams.

Sonsini, a Santa Maria, CA native, started all 18 games for the Firestorm in 2025. The senior goalkeeper had 104 saves and allowed 41 goals on the season. In the classroom, she is working on a degree in business.

Barron, from Peoria, AZ, started 17 of the 18 games she played for the Firestorm in 2025. The sophomore midfielder accounted for one goal and had four assists. In the classroom, she is working on a degree in child development.

Cowan, a Chelan, WA native, started all 16 games she played for the Firestorm in 2925. The sophomore defender played over 1200 minutes. In the classroom, she is working on a degree in sports psychology.
