Box Score PHOENIX, AZ – The Hope International Royals kept their perfect conference record intact Tuesday evening, with a 4-1 victory against the Arizona Christian Firestorm men's soccer team at the Rose Mofford Sports Complex.
With the loss, the Firestorm fall to 3-8 overall and 0-4 in GSAC play. With the win, Hope International University improves to 9-2-1 overall and a perfect 5-0 in GSAC play.
Hope International got on the board first to take a 1-0 lead just eight minutes into the match, when Raul Pinon found the back of the net on an Eduardo Zavala pass. Eight minutes later, the Royals scored again, this time by Eduardo Zavala unassisted.
Hope International would score one more goal by Jesse Perez to take a commanding 3-0 lead into halftime.
The Royals scored their fourth and final goal in the 50th minute early in the second half. ACU then responded, as Caio Lima scored on a penalty kick in the 64th minute to help the Firestorm avoid being shutout.
The Arizona Christian men's soccer team will now hit the road this Saturday for a GSAC match-up at Westmont College. The game is scheduled to start at 12 noon. The Firestorm men will next be at home next Wednesday the 15th against San Diego Christian College at 5:30pm.
