A GOOD EARLY SEASON TEST FOR WOMEN'S SOCCER

Box Score

Women's soccer fought a tough Embry Riddle team in-front of a packed house.

The Firestorm Women's Soccer Team fell short 0-2 in a tough battle with Embry Riddle on Tuesday night. However, vibes are still positive as head coach Alan Berrios feels this is a game that his team can grow from.

"I am extremely happy with the effort our girls showed last night," started Berrios. "We had a quality opponent in front of us and knew that we had to bring energy and fight. We settled in quickly and played toe to toe with one of the strongest teams in the CALPAC. Even though we dropped the game 0-2, I believe the positives outweigh the negatives and we will definitely improve because of it."

The Firestorm, who are now 2-2, again played without a true goalie due to injuries and defections.

"Both goals came off of our mistakes and can easily be avoided going forward. We had a field player in Serenity Masterson in goal and she did an excellent job given the fact that she has never played in goal before. Our back line was also solid. We kept shape well and played composed which is what we were looking for."

ACU continues to focus on the improving and growing in the process.

"Overall a very good performance by our girls against good team. We are very pleased with the improvement we are showing from week to week."

The Firestorm's next match will be September 22nd where they will travel to conference foe Hope International for a 10:00 A.M. start time.
