Phoenix, AZ- Arizona Christian and Menlo both produced 14 shots but the Oaks outscored the Firestorm 3-0 on Thursday afternoon. Freshman Juan Mora fired off a quarter of the shots taken in the game.

Mora came out ready to shoot as he attempted three of the first six shots unleashed in the first 13 minutes- two that were easily saved and one that sailed high.

In the first 45 minutes of action, ACU out shot MC 10-5 including six shots from Mora.  However, a rebounded shot knocked in gave Menlo their 1-0 lead at the break.

Menlo scored their second goal five and a half minutes into the second half.  After that goal, things got a little chippy as seven combined yellow cards were issued in an 11 minute span.

The Firestorm fought to the end as Senior Luis Tapia put an arching header on goal that was saved in the 87th minute.  Tapia came off the bench to put both of his shots on goal.

A goal for Menlo in the final minute accounted for the final tally.

On Saturday, the Firestorm will welcome William Jessup to the Rose Mofford Sports Complex for a 1:30 pm matchup.
