Fullerton, CA- Arizona Christian had their chances- in fact, won the shooting tally- but could not capitalize as they lost 3-0 to Hope International in the first round of the GSAC tournament.  Senior Ryan Scarpulla put both of his shots on target.

The first half was played evenly by the teams in between the boxes.  At the break, the game was tied 0-0 with the Firestorm (9-9-1) holding a 4-3 edge in shots.

Junior Dalton Abbitt and Freshman Diego Robles required saves on their shots.  Junior Brian Booker recorded a save on the one HIU shot on goal in the first 45 minutes.

Unfortunately, just 25 seconds into the second half, the Royals (11-5-2) cashed a loose ball in front of the net in for a goal.

Scarpulla fired off his two shots less than 30 seconds apart with a corner sandwiched in between but was turned away both times.  ACU pounded the goal with four more shots and another corner in a four minute span.  Senior Roberto Valenzuela had his shot saved in that time frame.

But HIU buried their second and third shots of the half into the goal for the 3-0 lead.

ACU just could not get a shot to find the back of the net.  At the end of the match, Arizona Christian held a 14-9 edge in shots with nothing to show for it.

The Firestorm see their best season as a program come to a close with the loss.
