Lakeside, CA- On Wednesday, a rough seven run third inning led to Arizona Christian falling behind San Diego Christian 12-0.  Senior Jake Howard hit a three run home run but it was too little too late as ACU fell 12-4.

The first two batters of the game found the bases- after Junior Dom Rodriguez was hit by a pitch and Junior Marco Castilla singled to right.  But the duo was left stranded.

In the bottom of the first, the Hawks (14-19, 9-16 GSAC) turned a leadoff triple, two singles, and a ground rule double into a 2-0 lead.  SDCC then exploded for their seven run third and cashed in single runs in the fourth, fifth, and seventh.

Despite having runners on in every inning but one through seven including the bases loaded in the fifth and two on in the sixth and seventh, the Firestorm (22-19, 11-13 GSAC) were kept off the scoreboard. 

That is until Junior Kyle Robbins singled and Senior Harris Lyons walked to begin the eighth.  Howard followed with his third home run of the season.

Sophomore Trent Troncone doubled in the ninth and eventually came home on a wild pitch to account for the final scoring.

On Thursday, the two teams will face off for two games at the Barona Stars Field in Lakeside, CA.  First pitch is planned for 11:00 am.
