Costa Mesa, CA - The Arizona Christian University women's soccer program (3-7-1, 0-3-1) closed out their road trip with a 4-1 loss to Vanguard (4-6-1, 1-3-0) on Saturday afternoon in Costa Mesa.

The Game:

The Lions came out firing from the start and got on the board at 14:32 to make it 1-0. However, Raelene Reyes came up with 7 big saves to limit the damage to one as the Firestorm trailed 1-0 at halftime. The Firestorm came out of the break looking for the equalizer, but it was the Lions who would strike again moments after the restart at 45:40 to go up 2-0. Despite being outshout the Firestorm fought back and got on the board at 69:18 as Brooke Schuster set up Cami Mercado for a header off a free kick to make it 2-1. The Lions put to bed any comeback attempt as they added two more goals late at 78:48 and 83:45 as the Firestorm fell 4-1.
