Irvine, CA – The Arizona Christian University baseball team (31-26) fell out of the GSAC Tournament as they lost 15-6 to Hope International (39-13) on Tuesday afternoon at the OC Great Park in Irvine, CA.

With the loss the Firestorm's record against the Royals falls to 11-17.

The Game:

Sergio Heguertty got the start and took the loss as he failed to record an out while allowing five runs on four hits while walking one. Caleb Beach and Marques Titialli each drove in a run to lead the Firestorm's offense.

The Royals got on the board early as they struck for five runs in the first to take a 5-0 lead. The Firestorm got back into the game in the bottom half as the Royals starting pitcher hit four straight Firestorm batters to make it 5-1. Later in the inning Beach would work a bases load walk to make it 5-2 but that was all the Firestorm were able to get as they score stayed that way until the fourth.

It was the Royals though who would cash in again with three runs to take an 8-2 lead. The Firestorm would battle back in the bottom half as they scored a run on an error to make it 8-3. After a walk Titialli grounded a single through the left side to make it 8-4. The Royals would respond though with three in the fifth and one in the sixth to increase their lead to 12-4. The Firestorm fought back in the eighth as they scored a run on a bases loaded walk and a double play to cut the lead to 12-6. The Royals would add three more runs in the ninth as the Firestorm fell 15-6.
