Marion, IN – The Firestorm Track & Field program received strong efforts from sophomores
McKenna Rogers in the Pole Vault, and
TaHaj Acoff in the Shot Put, as the 2025 Track & Field season came to a close in Marion, IN.
Rogers was expecting to compete on the opening day of the meet, but wind and rain forced officials to move it to Thursday. After making opening height on her third attempt, Rogers was unable to hit the second height which was just below her PR of 12' 2.75". Her thirteenth-place finish matched her ranking entering the meet.
Acoff, the Indoor All-American in the shot put, struggled in his return to the national meet. After opening with a toss of 53' 1" he unfortunately fouled on his second and third attempts and was not able to advance to finals.
Both Rogers and Acoff will now enter the off season with sights set on returning Marion, IN again in the 2026.
Thoughts from Head Coach Brian Bell
"We are very proud of how McKenna and TaHaj competed. Although we will always be disappointed until we win a national championship, we are grateful to God for the opportunity. We had a great season and a very young team. We are praying the best performances are yet to come."
