Seven Wrestlers Place in Bill Musick Memorial Open

Fresno, Calif.- In their second tournament of the season on Saturday, seven Firestorm wrestlers put on a performance at the Bill Musick Memorial Open hosted by Fresno City College. Out of several competitors, Brandon Townsell and Enzo Morales got on the podium for Arizona Christian, representing well in the away tournament.

"This weekend, several of our freshman and sophomore wrestlers stepped on the mat for the first time this season, and for a majority of them for the first time in their careers. We brought 18 wrestlers, and 7 ended up finding a place on the podium at the Bill Musick Memorial Open hosted by Fresno City College. Efforts were led by sophomore Brandon Townsell, who defeated an NCWA National Champion in the finals to take 1st place at 197 lbs. Enzo Morales also had a phenomenal first tournament for the Firestorm as he took 2nd place, losing a close 4-3 match in the finals. Other placers included Julio Gonzales (5th), Daniel Alire (8th), Luca Muñoz (6th), Carter Fawcett (5th), and Connor Coleman (5th). Our guys represented us extremely well this weekend and we are excited to compete this coming weekend at the Mile High Open hosted by Embry Riddle."

The Firestorm will compete in the ERAU Duals and Mile High Open on Friday and Saturday, November 14 and 15 at 10am in Prescott, AZ.
