Tucson, AZ – The Firestorm Track & Field program opened the outdoor portion of their track schedule on Saturday at the Spring Break Fiesta hosted by the University of Arizona. As the team transitions from indoor events to outdoor events, two athletes showed they are already better than a year ago.
Mikhail Browne, fresh off his national championship performance in the long jump, took the weekend off from jumping and joined the sprinters in the 100 meters. Browne clocked a time of 10.90 which was a new personal best for him, and is the fourth fastest time in program history. Also setting a personal best was sophomore
Harrison Still. Still launched the shot put 41-02.5 which was further than his previous best throw by over four feet.
Thoughts from Head Coach Brian Bell
"Our men's team picked up where they left off at the end of the indoor season with several breakout performances. Harrison's PR in the shot put, Mikhail had a terrific 100-meter dash, and Isaac Linan had a PR in the 800 (1:59.40). We are excited about the development and depth of our men's program so early in the outdoor season."
